At the heart of the ZV-E10 is a 24.2-megapixel (approx. effective) APS-C Exmor™ CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processing engine, which deliver high-quality images with high sensitivity, detailed texture rendering, and beautiful, natural bokeh.
In addition, the ZV-E10 includes popular vlog-specific features introduced in the popular ZV-1 digital camera, including the "Background Defocus" function, which allows you to easily switch between blurred (bokeh) and sharp backgrounds, and the "Product Showcase Setting" mode, which allows the camera to automatically shift focus from the subject's face to the highlighted object.

The featherweight (approx. 343g) ZV-E10 is designed primarily for video recording, which is why it features a popular side-opening, variable-angle LCD screen that allows creators to connect external microphones to the top of the camera. This makes setup easier, while users can still see the screen in selfie mode, from both high and low angles.
In addition to the screen, the ZV-E10 includes a number of other easy-to-use features designed specifically for vlogging, including a new mode dial on top of the camera that allows creators to easily switch between still/movie/slow and quick modes with a single touch.
The new camera also includes advanced video features such as 4K (QFHD: 3840 x 2160) video recording and high-resolution slow motion (FHD 120p). An electronic image stabilizer with active mode is also available, ensuring stable video recording even when walking or shooting handheld. Sony's industry-leading AF technology allows users to leave the focusing to the camera, so they can concentrate on creating their shot. The ZV-E10's fast hybrid AF and Real-time Tracking Eye AF for videos allow the camera to track the subject's face and eyes even while shooting on the move, even in challenging environments. Users can also customize the camera's AF settings, such as AF transition speed and AF subject shift sensitivity, to choose between fast or slow focusing according to their creative preferences.
In addition, the ZV-E10's Touch Focus function allows users to intuitively set the focus position with a simple touch of the screen. With a single touch, users can instantly move the focus position anywhere within the image periphery. This function is available in both still and video modes.

Thanks to Sony's market-leading technology, the ZV-E10 captures crystal-clear audio, clearly recording the speaker's voice thanks to the built-in three-capsule microphone and the included windscreen, which greatly reduces wind noise in recordings.
For expanded audio options, the ZV-E10 includes a digital audio interface via the Multi Interface (MI) Shoe Cap and a microphone jack for connecting an external microphone. The built-in headphone jack allows users to connect headphones for accurate monitoring of audio recordings. The audio output timing can also be set to Live or Lip Sync.
Focus on the subject
In environments with dramatic changes in lighting, users can be confident that the ZV-E10 will automatically correct exposure so that the subject's face is not overexposed or underexposed, using the original Face Priority AE (automatic exposure) algorithm, which is capable of fast AE transitions. This allows the camera to recognize the subject's face and adjust the exposure so that the face appears at the optimal brightness, even when taking selfies in conditions with extreme light changes, and even if the subject's face is turned away from the camera for a moment.
In addition, the camera uses the advanced color grading introduced in the popular ZV-1 to optimize skin tones for any subject, in both still and video modes.

Users can comfortably operate the new ZV-E10 thanks to the hand-friendly body grip and the large MOVIE button conveniently located on top of the camera. When paired with the optional Shooting Grip with wireless remote control (GP-VPT2BT, sold separately), one-handed shooting becomes much easier with easy access to zoom, record, and a customizable button. There is also a tally light on the front of the body, which provides instant feedback on the recording status. A red frame also appears on the LCD screen during recording, quickly and easily indicating to the user behind the camera whether recording is active.
A unique feature of the ZV-E10 is the zoom lever, which can operate optical zoom with power zoom lenses and Clear Image zoom with prime lenses. When paired with a prime lens, the user can zoom without compromising video resolution, preserving the full 4K video resolution. The user can also choose from 8 zoom speed settings for creative flexibility.
The ZV-E10 has a long battery life, providing enough power for up to 125 minutes or 440 shots on a single charge, allowing users to shoot for long periods of time. When shooting indoors, AC adapters such as the optional AC-PW20AM can provide power, allowing users to continue shooting without worrying about battery consumption.
Power can also be supplied via the USB Type-C® connector, allowing the camcorder to be powered by external batteries even when shooting on the go. To conserve the camera's battery, the ZV-E10's vari-angle LCD screen allows users to put the camera into power-saving mode by closing the panel, and to shoot immediately by opening the panel.

Livestreaming
The ZV-E10 can also be used as a high-quality webcam or livestreaming camera when connected to a PC or smartphone, providing greater mobility during livestreaming without the need for additional software. This feature allows users to take advantage of the ZV-E10's excellent image quality and crystal-clear sound, as well as Face Priority AE and Soft Skin Effect during live streaming or video calls.
The ZV-E10 supports standards used for USB cameras, such as UVC (USB Video Class) / UAC (USB Audio Class). The ZV-E10 also allows users to connect the camera to a power supply via a USB cable during livestreaming for longer use. For added convenience, users can assign this function to a custom button to start streaming instantly.
Easy data transfer
With the Sony Imaging Edge Mobile app, users can transfer selected images and video files to a mobile device via Wi-Fi. This also allows users to transfer RAW image files. Once the camera is paired with the Imaging Edge Mobile app, location data for files can be retrieved and recorded from the mobile device. Users can also transfer files from the SD card in the camera to a smartphone (mobile device) via Bluetooth even when the camera is turned off.
